Bunker Tips

Some good advice for bunker play is to try and make the depth of your bunker divots consistent. I like to see the divots quite shallow, helped by placing the ball position forward in your stance, using the bounce on the sole in this shot.

Look for your divots to be approximately a foot in length that will also give you a good guide to the correct depth.

Control your distance.

There are many ways to control distance from the sand. Here are a couple of ideas for you to trial.

1) Picture your arm (which ever you find easiest) as a clock dial. Rotate back to a consistent position similar to moving the arm on a clock to a number. Use this as a consistent measure of swing to help with a consistent distance.

2) Think about your speed. Swing speed and different speeds particularly through impact with have a large variance in the distance outcome of your shot from the sand and any other shot in fact. So try controlling to the best of your ability a consistent swing speed.
