Ball position is key!
I like to see a little more loft from chipping, achieved by having a forward ball position approximately two inches inside the left heel. This will help land the ball softer with less run.
If you are having trouble thinning the ball or striking it heavy, this can be caused by the body weight leaning too far back as you attempt to strike the ball.
Cure this by moving your weight so that your chin is in line with the golf balls position.
Drill: Landing zone
Create a landing zone with some tee pegs or place your towel on the green. Try and land your balls in your chosen landing area. Hit ten balls with a few clubs and see which one is most reliable. Record your scores so you can track your progression.
